A dear lady in my Bible study brought this classic egg dish to a recent brunch, and it was so delicious that I asked her for the recipe. She graciously shared it with me–it’s a winner for brunches and potlucks.
There are times when I make things that require precision and measurements, a certain faithfulness to a recipe. Then there are the times when I walk into the kitchen, poke through the fridge and the pantry, and a sort of happy accident occurs. This bread was a happy accident.
One night last week, I needed to [...]
My father-in-law is an excellent cook, and it is something of a family tradition that he gets up early on Christmas morning and makes something wonderful for the family breakfast (which is often a separate affair from Christmas dinner!) My favorite of his Christmas morning offerings has always been Eggs Hussarde. We are [...]

To explain why I tried this dish tonight, I have to back up about 3 weeks and tell you about a night when our friend Nicole showed up at our back door, (which she frequently does) bearing a leftover box from dinner. In the box was something called chilaquiles (say “chee-lah-KEE-lace”). Kirk and I greedily [...]
