I’m guessing that there are plenty of people out there who have made a vinaigrette much like this several thousand times, so it’s not actually a secret. (But I thought it made a punchy title, so there ya go.) I made this up tonight to dress a salad I’ll post in a separate recipe. The dressing was so good, I thought it deserved its own space–and I’ll definitely be making it again!
Laura’s Secret Weapon Vinaigrette
- 1/4 c. olive oil
- 3 TBSP balsamic vinegar
- 2 TBSP red wine vinegar (or, if you have neither, substitute any kind of vinegar in similar quantity)
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 TBSP prepared brown mustard
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp. rosemary
- 1/2 tsp. coarse-ground black pepper
Whisk all of the above in a small bowl before pouring over the salad you are going to dress. Or, use the vinaigrette as a marinade for meat! Or as a dipping sauce for a great bread. Or as the sauce for a simple pasta dish. Yum!
