All things Thanksgiving:

Added note: We keep bumping this post to the top, so the first paragraph really no longer makes much sense. When we originally put up this post, it was a little over two weeks before Thanksgiving.

If you are like me, you still have about 15 days before you decide to start planning your Thanksgiving dinner. (That was meant to be an ironic statement. :-) ) But in case you are thinking about it now, we have just about everything you could want in the way of Thanksgiving recipes. To make things simpler, here’s a list of what we have. You may also want to click on the “Holiday” category in the sidebar–that will bring up some things from our Christmas selection, as well, in case you want some fancier desserts or other things.

Concerning planning/timelines:

Concerning Hors-D’Oevres/Appetizers:

Concerning Turkey:

Concerning sidedishes:

Concerning salads/relishes:

Concerning beverages:

Concerning desserts:

Concerning leftovers:

Over the next couple of weeks, we will add any new recipes or experiments that we think will enhance this list. Either bookmark this page and check for updates or keep your eye on the main page for new Thanksgiving recipes/thoughts/ideas.

Best wishes for a wonderful Thanksgiving this year, to you and yours!

  • thanks for the timeline - we love turkey soup with our leftovers!

  • You’re the greatest. Your gravy post last year was so helpful. My inlaws are coming to our house - and that’s as far as I’ve gotten. :-) I think they are bringing the turkey. Ha! I’d better get with it.
    Have a wonderful holiday season.

Hi again. I just looked at Thanksgiving appetizers.

This is the best one any time a year. This can be made a
loose dip to scoop with crackers or chips or less sour cream and roll into a cheese ball with crackers.

Take 2-4 cans of tuna (oil) mix with bars of cream cheese put in your mixer and add as much sour cream as you want for the consistency. No need to add anything else.

People will ask what is this and what is the recipe.

  • I took a hint from Friendly’s Restaurant - an amazing turkey sandwich that they unfortunately have discontinued. Prepare your sandwich bread of choice, then layer turkey, stuffing and top with cranberry sauce. Mush together and dig into a bite of heaven! Good thing this only happens once a year.

P.S. I’m thankful this year for the cooking blogs I’ve discovered - I always check yours first!

  • Aw, Barb, thanks for your kind words! Truth is, these days, I don’t dig out my recipes…I just print stuff off my own blog!
