Apples, apples, ugly apples everywhere

Last night we spent a couple of hours picking apples off an ancient (a couple hundred years old) apple tree. They aren’t pretty, but do taste good. So now, we have several hundred pounds of apples to process. I’m searching for apple recipes frantically–even ones that I haven’t used for awhile.

  • That must be one heck of a big tree!

  • I picked some apple alot like those . They get so ugly because the tree needs pruned for proper ventilation . If the apple tree i that old you should contact one of the apple heritage programs and send them one . I rinsed my ugly apples in bleach-water and scrubbed with scrubby sponge . They cleaned up alot ~! But they still weren’t pretty ! LOL
